The University of Bari Aldo Moro will host a study day, “Francesco Paolo Casavola: il magistero barese di uno studioso universale”, on Friday, 30 October 2026, from 09:00 to 13:30, at the Aula Magna di Ateneo in Bari, Italy.
Organised with the involvement of the Department of Law and the Department of Education, Psychology and Communication Sciences (ForPsiCom), the event will be dedicated to the scholarly work and academic legacy of Francesco Paolo Casavola, distinguished scholar of Roman law and legal history and former President of the Italian Constitutional Court (1992-1995).
The symposium will offer an opportunity to reflect on Casavola's intellectual contributions and his influence on Italian legal scholarship, university education, and public institutions. Particular attention will be devoted to his years of academic activity in Bari, his approach to legal education, and the relationship between Roman law, constitutional thought, and civic responsibility that characterised his scholarly and public engagement.
The programme will bring together colleagues and scholars who will examine different aspects of Casavola's intellectual legacy through personal recollections, academic reflections, and discussions of his writings.
