The intellectual history of German legal history of the 19th century has been well investigated in recent works by several scholars. Research on that history of the 20th century, however, to a great extent has been concentrated on intense research on the “Abominable Lawyers” of the Third Reich. We know how the Germanic law oriented paradigm of the legal historians in the “Bonn-Republic” had a difficult time after World War II, due to their affiliation to the politically totalitarian context.
