ABOUT THE BOOK
This volume brings together contributions from the fields of literary studies and history that examine how tyranny was historically encoded from the ninth to the seventeenth century, with an outlook on the present day. It focuses on the figure of the tyrant, which is still topical today, and the different possibilities it provided for semanticization and functionalization.
