The ESCLH wrote to you a few weeks ago to say that the Lisbon conference, postponed from 2020 to 2021, has had to be postponed again to 2022, and we gave the dates as 29 June to 1 July, our normal dates in even-numbered years. However, we afterwards found out that another conference in a cognate field has also selected those dates, also postponed once and also looking like an excellent conference (Legal History of Empires: https://lhbe.org/). It seems very likely that once conferences get started again after the pandemic, there will be serious risks of conflicting dates and that not all conflicts will be avoidable.
In addition, a reminder that our reading circle on comparative legal history methods will have its third event on 3 May, online, devoted to Alan Watson's Legal Transplants. All are welcome. Further reminders will appear on our blog.

Finally, the ESCLH has appointed a new Treasurer. For the last nine or so years, we have been lucky to have Juan B. Cañizares Navarro taking on the role of treasurer and are grateful for his work on behalf of the Society, and that he will stay on to help with some banking issues. We are delighted that Judit Beke-Martos will be taking over over the course of the next month. She can be contacted at the following address: treasureresclh@gmail.com. Transitions can take a little time, so please bear with us while we transition, but do email and we will always try to sort it out.
