Concept:

The first annual conference of the Käte Hamburger Kolleg „Legal Unity and Pluralism“ adresses the question of whether the relationship between unity and plurality demarcates the same or a similar boundary as the relationship between rule and exception. We are also interested in what effects the figure of the exception has had and continues to have on forms of plurality or standardisation of law. Comprising contrastive studies, the interdisciplinary and inter-epochal conference aims to foster intensive discussion in this area.
