De Gruyter is publishing a new
edited collection on councils and canon law in late antiquity and the early
medieval period.
ABOUT THE BOOK
The history of canon law in
various Christian cultures (Latin, Greek, Syrian, Coptic) has, with good
reason, mostly concentrated on questions of content and organization. In the
present volume, however, a comparison is made of the procedures leading to
conciliar decisions and thus to the emergence of canon law.
