We learned of a
call for papers on the League of Nations at Leicester Law School. Here the
call:
We invite proposals of early career researchers
for papers to the conference ‘The Legacy of the League of Nations’ to be held
at Leicester Law School on 31 January 2019.
We welcome submissions that engage with various
aspects of the work of the League of Nations.
Doctrinal and interdisciplinary
papers are equally welcome.
Possible topics for the conference include, but
are not limited to:
- The
League of Nations and the theory of sources of international law
- The
legacy of the Permanent Court of International Justice
- The
past, present and future of collective security
- The
League of Nations and the protection of refugees
- The
League of Nations and the development of international organisations law
- The
Covenant and the Charter: the seeds of international constitutionalism?
- Rethinking
the United Nations in the twenty-first century: lessons learnt from the
League of Nations’ experience and proposals for the future
