CALL FOR PAPERS: XIXth European Forum of Young Legal Historians: "(Wo)Men in Legal History" (15-18 May 2013, Lille/Ghent)

The call for papers for the upcoming XIXth European Forum for Young Legal Historians is online on the AYLH website. The county of Flanders will host the conference in its cities of Lille (in France from 1667 on) and Ghent (Kingdom of Belgium).

This year, -as the rather Rubensian blindfolded lady, holding the balance of justice between the sexes, indicates- the conference focuses on gender and the law. Although this subject is quite catch-all in itself, the organizers emphasise that separate contributions are welcome as well. Contributions will be published in a double blind peer-reviewed volume of the Iuris Scripta Historica-series (Legal History Committee of the Royal Flemish Academy of Sciences, Arts and Literature).

Participants can submit a proposal until 31 January 2013. Fees will be € 80 (speakers) or € 100 (passive attendants).

Practical information of this double-headed, binational, but mono-county event (hotel bookings, travel, events) will be published on the websites of the Legal History Institute (Ghent) and the Centre d'Histoire Judiciaire (Lille 2).
